Mind Map Editing Guide
Learn how to edit, customize, and get the most out of your mind maps.
Getting Started
Creating a mind map with Mind Map Minion is simple:
- Enter a topic: Type any subject, question, or concept into the input field.
- Generate: Click the "Generate" button and let AI create your mind map.
- Edit: Click on any node to select it and customize your map.
- Export: Save your mind map as an image or PDF when you're done.
Tip: Be specific with your topics! "Machine Learning Applications in Healthcare" will generate a better map than just "AI".
Editing Nodes
Selecting Nodes
Click on any node to select it. The selected node will be highlighted with a colored border.
Editing Text
- Double-click on any node to enter edit mode
- Type your changes directly
- Press Enter or click outside to save
- Press Escape to cancel without saving
Adding Child Nodes
- Select a node and click the Add Child button
- Or press Tab to quickly add a child
- The new node will appear as a branch from the selected node
Adding Sibling Nodes
- Select a node and click Add Sibling
- Or press Enter to add a sibling at the same level
Deleting Nodes
- Select a node and click Delete
- Or press Delete / Backspace
- Warning: Deleting a node also removes all its children
AI-Powered Features
Expand Branch with AI
Want to dive deeper into a topic? Select any node and click Expand with AI. The AI will generate relevant sub-topics and add them as children of the selected node.
Pro Tip: Use AI expansion on multiple branches to build comprehensive, detailed mind maps quickly.
Regenerate Map
Not happy with the generated structure? Click Regenerate to create a completely new mind map from the same topic. Each generation can provide different perspectives and organization.

Exporting Your Mind Map
Save and share your mind maps in multiple formats:
PNG Image
Export as a high-quality PNG image. Perfect for presentations, documents, or sharing on social media. The image includes your entire mind map at full resolution.
PDF Document
Create a PDF file that's ideal for printing or archiving. PDFs maintain quality at any zoom level and are easy to share via email.
Markdown
Export your mind map structure as Markdown text. Great for importing into note-taking apps, documentation, or further editing.
Note: Export features are available on Plus and Pro plans. View plans to unlock exports!
